Dot can be used as a library for graph layout. We need to do graph layout. Sense a connection? However, lots of work first (possibly enough to make this wait until after 1.0). Firstly, we need to see if we can actually use the library in a reasonable way, i.e. can we get dot to format a simple, fixed graph? After that, we need to come up with an interface, and that's the hard part. I won't go into that now, but ideas and notes on it should go down here.
