The War on Terror is the latest public-opinion distraction from the ongoing War on the BillOfRights. The War on Drugs is so passe. Join the New War on Terror and you, too, can ensure that this antipatriotic action can chip away at our Constitution. Simply follow the Bush administration from Present to Orwellian future! In case you missed the reference, in that famous book by Orwell, the narrator says "We are at war with Eurasia. We have always been at war with Eurasia." The idea is that the government keeps the people distracted by constantly being at war with some entity or another. Does this sound at all familiar to you? Name the last time the United States government wasn't at war with someone or another. War on Drugs. War on Crime. War on Terror. All of these things can never be defeated, so any war on them will naturally last for all eternity. The martial arts concept of rigidity versus fluidity applies. If you stand rigid and strong, a master of the art will break you and destroy you. If you roll with the punches and remain fluid in your actions, then even a master of the art will have a difficult time breaking you. Exactly this applies to the War on XYZ. To win against XYZ, you must not try to destroy it. First, you must accept that it has the upper hand on you in some way. Then you must learn what makes it happen. Why did the terrorists bomb the building? Why did the terrorist blow up the Oklahoma fed building? Why did the terrorist mail anthrax? If you can understand the cause, you can see the punch coming and roll with it. The first culprit is foreign policy. Ask yourself this: If Canada came down into the United States, assassinated the entire Congress, then installed some puppet dictators of their choosing, what would you do? Next election, you would vote for someone good. And, naturally, the good parties all win and become the new congress. But Canada comes down and assassinates all of them and re-installs the same puppet dicatators as before. How many four-year election cycles would you keep voting and doing nothing before you decided to take matters into your own hands and blow up the Canadian World Trade Centre? It seems Canada's foreign policy got them into a little hot water, doesn't it? Maybe they could try, oh, NOT assassinating the legitimate government of the United States and try NOT installing their own puppet dictators. This might, just might reduce hostility toward Canada. Are you a patriotic American citizen? Would you die for your country? Would Osama bin Laden die for his? Just wondering.
